HMAC Instructor

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Hot Mix Asphalt Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, conducting hands-on training, and preparing students for certification in hot mix asphalt inspection, testing, and design. This role requires a deep understanding of asphalt materials, construction practices, and industry standards.
Essential Functions
- Certification: Obtain qualification as a TxDOT-certified Instructor
- Instruction: Instruct training and certification classes at various locations, including on-site, off-site, and virtual.
- Material Preparation: Ensure all laboratory materials (aggregates, HMA, and asphalt) are processed and prepared.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update instructional materials, course outlines, and training programs.
- Lab Maintenance: Keep lab equipment clean, organized, and ready for each class.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Travel: Being available for periodic travel may be necessary to support training and certification programs.
- Additional Tasks: Perform any tasks as assigned by the HMAC Technical Director.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Experience preferred: 4+ years in a relevant field.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and Zoom.
- Licenses: Current and valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicants should be able to work independently and manage their tasks effectively.
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
