A 90% refund will be issued for any cancellation up to seven (7) business days prior to class start date. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations made less than seven (7) business days before class start date. At any point you may substitute one technician for another without penalty up to the class start date. If these criteria are not met, the student will be marked as a "No Show" on the day of the class, and funds will be forfeited.

  • You may transfer your payment to a later class date up to three times.
  • Transfers are only allowed if the request is made within the cancellation period.
  • Waitlist transfers do not count toward the three-transfer limit.
  • Per our cancellation policy, you may substitute one technician for another without penalty until the class start date.

  • On-site & Off-site Classes: Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late to class will not be permitted to join and will be marked as a “No Show.”
  • Virtual Classes: Students are asked to login by 8:30am to get setup. Students who log on after 9:00am will not be permitted to join and will be marked as a "No Show."

  • Attendance on the first day of training is mandatory. Students who do not attend the first day will not be allowed to participate in the second or third day of training. Missing the first day will result in being marked as a "No Show," and any payment made will be forfeited.
  • Attendance on all scheduled days of the training is mandatory. Students who skip days or attend only select days will not be allowed to complete the training program. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in being marked as a “No Show,” with no refund issued.

  • A written test score of 80% or above is required to pass.
  • A written test score between 70% and 79% is considered a failing grade, but you will be allowed to take the hands-on portion of the certification class.
  • A written test score of 69% or below is a failing grade and you will NOT be allowed to take the hands-on portion of the class.

  • Candidates are allowed two attempts to pass the practical examination.
  • If you fail any portion of the practical examination on either attempt, you must schedule a new certification date.
  • Upon rescheduling, you are required to retake both the written and practical portions of the examination.

  • To qualify for a written retest, a student must make between a 70-79 on the written test and successfully pass the hands-on evaluation.
  • Students must contact the HMAC and schedule to take the test again within 30 days. HMAC will not contact you.
  • Students who do not schedule the retest again within the 30 days, must register for a new certification class.
  • Students who fail the retest must register for a new certification class.

  • The HMAC can provide reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities at the HMAC Buda facilities.
  • Students must request accommodations at least one month prior to their scheduled class date.

  • All requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and must allow enough time for evaluation and appropriate action by HMAC.

Recording of training sessions is not permitted for HMAC on-site, off-site, or virtual classes. If you are found recording a session, you may be asked to leave the class and forfeit your registration fees.
